Why this exists
The founder of Franchise-Grade Systems spent 7 years in Fortune 500 enterprise technology leadership before investing in a franchise. The investment decision was made with more financial information than most buyers have access to, and it still cost six figures.
Not because the research wasn't done. Because the research being done was the wrong research. The FDD was reviewed. The earnings claims in Item 19 looked reasonable. The validation calls were completed. And still, the operational realities, the fee compounding, the territory dynamics, and the support gap between what was promised in the sales process and what was delivered after signing were not visible until it was too late.
The tools on this site exist because no amount of goodwill and hard work can fix a deal with broken unit economics. Those problems have to be found before the signature, not after. That is what this platform is built to do.
What we build and why
Every product on this site was built to solve a specific problem that exists in the franchise buying process.
The AI FDD Analyzer exists because most buyers never read their FDD in full. It is a 200 to 400 page legal document written to protect the franchisor. The Analyzer extracts the financially material information and flags what warrants scrutiny.
The Franchise Decision Kit exists because "does this franchise make sense for me" is not a question with a single answer. The Expert Review exists because there are questions that require a human judgment call from someone who has been through the process. Not a franchise attorney reviewing legal exposure. Not a franchise broker with commission incentives. Someone who has operated a franchise unit, lost money in one, and spent years learning what the numbers actually mean in practice.
